Did You Know that Dream Theater Covered Metallica with Barney Greenway?

On the surface, it may not seem like Dream Theater and Napalm Death mix, but one fateful night in 1995 proved that theory wrong. John Petrucci, the guitarist of Dream Theater, said this to Loudwire about that show: "When we did a special concert, Live at Ronnie Scott's, which is a small jazz club in the U.K. in London, we had many guests come up with us."

He continues, "At the time, Mike Portnoy was a big fan of Napalm Death and knew Barney and that's how that connection was made. Me personally, I wasn't as in tune with that metal scene, but I love when things cross genres and you realize there's this great brotherhood of music, regardless of style."

In fact, in the music video for "Pull Me Under", Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie wore a Napalm Death shirt, as shown here:

Indeed, Barney Greenway, vocalist of deathgrind band Napalm Death, once covered "Damage Inc." from Metallica's 1986 album, Master of Puppets with the progressive metal masters themselves, Dream Theater.
